A room full of startup employees, and a conversation that went deep: cliff vesting, exercise mechanics, post-termination exercise windows (PTEW), and the taxation questions that trip almost everyone up.

Sandeep answered every question patiently and with sharp, real-world examples.

Sometimes you walk into a topic thinking you already know it well, and you leave realising how much more there was to learn.

The questions from the audience were a highlight in themselves, several of them indicative of how the whole room was thinking about equity as a wealth-building tool.

For us at Startup Policy Forum, this one runs deep. ESOP taxation is an issue we’ve championed for a long time, and with the sheer amount of wealth being created through employee stock options today,  and the far greater amount still to come,  this will stay a topic close to our heart.
